Pros

- Some of the kindest, most intelligent, hard working people I've had the opportunity to work with in my career - Working at EVERFI gives you the chance to have impact in the lives of educators and their students - Flexible work environment for remote teams - The K12 Schools Team is an excellent opportunity for educators transitioning from the classroom to enter the field of ed tech - Good benefits and very parent-friendly - Not a too high pressure environment for those working remotely (outside of D.C.) - Excellent middle managers who care deeply about the employees they manage and their role in providing support for their teams

Cons

I decided to write this review after noticing several recent reviews written by executive leaders. It's disconcerting to see that leaders at EVERFI are writing reviews that not only skew the Glassdoor ranking, but skew and undermine the very real lived experiences of current and former employees that were not 5-star. It looks like these leaders aren't able to receive feedback. - Favoritism is alive and well at EVERFI. - The company lacks real opportunities for growth and career progression within the organization. - Roles and responsibilities, especially on the K12 team, are not clearly defined and this limits any one employee's ability to effectively become an expert at their job. - The mission of the company is cemented in social impact and creating more equitable futures for students BUT the company is only willing to stand by their DEI anthem as long as its profitable and making the corporate customers happy. Leaders are not willing to take real time or make real effort to invest in internal or external DEI initiatives and are only willing to put in enough work that checks a box. - It can feel chaotic to work at EVERFI sometimes. A lot of reviews here talk about how exciting the constant change at EVERFI is, but instead this change is indicative of EVERFI attempting to take advantage and make profit off of every social issue that makes headlines. If you aren't aware of the term seagull management, please look it up. This is what it can feel like at EVERFI. - It is clear that executives have no real leadership or executive management training. Employees are treated as if they are elementary students and this is not conducive for empowered work from the professional adults that work at EVERFI.

Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. It is important to note that several of these assertions about our people and organization are simply not representative of the strides and investments our organization is making, particularly with regard to employee development and DE&I initiatives. It is a top priority of our leadership and Talent department to support career competencies, development and role progression for EVERFI's talented employees. This past year we made significant investments in the K12 function including revamping compensation, career pathing, employee development, and manager coaching. To that end, we have a significant number of Schools Implementation Managers who have continued their career journey at EVERFI in leadership roles within K12 and other roles across the business including revenue and product. We're committed to providing tools and resources to help drive growth within the organization and we believe career growth is an active and ongoing conversation between employees and managers. We continue to invest in our greatest growth areas and receive ample employee feedback to confirm we’re on the right path, however, if there are specific issues you would like to raise, we again encourage you to reach out to our Talent Department to better understand and address any remaining concerns.

Pros

None at all so do not work here

Cons

Terrible management. They care more about themselves than employees. They have no training and never communicate with you. Terrible low salary below standards and they over promise and under deliver. They need to learn how to treat employees. Worst company ever!

Laughable Business Model and Bias Executive Team

Pros

There are some great people at EVERFI, including the co-founder, Ray Martinez. EVERFI also does tackle some of the most challenging social issues and is happy to deploy resources to make sure training reaches students, even when the company is not monetizing. That's quite nice and also probably why the "company" suffers to remain profitable, which is sort of required when you take a 190M investment from TPG.

Cons

Like all of the other review state, the Executive Team is not diverse and the CEO and COO (Ellen) live a noticeably lavish lifestyle, which affords them the ability to do charity work vs. running a profitable business and paying people fairly. Working at a for profit organization that is not concerned with monetizing is privilege, which is something they fail to see. There are definitely favorites in terms of people but also resources and strategy are very unevenly distributed across business lines, making some business lines extremely weak in competitive markets. It's laughable that they have HR commenting that the reviews left here are false... They have a systemic problem with unfair treatment of employees (hence the turnover rate) and their products have become sub par because the company lacks focus and strategy.... There is also very little upward career advancement opportunities at this company.

2020 handed all companies an environment for difficult business decisions to ensure future viability. In a tough economic market, during a global pandemic, we provided merit based salary increases and bonuses to eligible employees this year. In the last six months, it has also been a top priority of our leadership: executives, department leaders and managers to ensure all teams are appropriately staffed for the growth we are witnessing. We're doubling down on our investments and we're currently hiring for many critical positions across the business. Like any organization, we continue to focus on areas of improvement. Feedback regarding compensation and benefits has been heard and acted on over the last year and we have taken action to benchmark our compensation to the market and make adjustments accordingly. In addition, our leadership team has heard and acted on feedback regarding management and recognition over the last year. If you have specific concerns, please reach out the Talent Department.
