Subpar leadership and little professional development

Pros

Depending on your team, you can have a lot of flexibility, which has been especially important over the past year.

Cons

A few years of rapid growth combined with a big round of funding led to the company being bigger than any executives were qualified or capable of leading, not to mention getting the company to grow to where they want it to grow. There is no structure, no clear vision that doesn't change every other month, and no processes in place for the company to get to where they want it to be. As others have mentioned, favoritism is rampant, and charisma will get you further than competence. This might've worked when EVERFI had 50 employees, but it's not working now that it has 500 employees and a lot of mediocre people are in leadership positions and growth has completely stalled.

Pros

-The people you work with on a day to day basis. The team was really the best part of my job. -Unlimited PTO

Cons

-Limited growth opportunities -Favortism. It is extremely easy to spot who the favorites are within the company. Favorite teams and favorite employees are the people who have the most opportunity because the higher ups are so clearly biased towards them -Schools team is constantly getting the short end of the stick. EVERFI started with the schools team but it’s clear that those are the employees that matter the least to management because we’re not “bringing in the revenue” -At first, micromanaging wasn’t an issue but it’s clear that it has become one. Trust your employees to get their jobs done without giving them pointless extra tasks throughout the week that have no impact on our results

Pros

Flexible schedules - good benefits - good office perks

Cons

Management seems more interested in themselves than in employees. Have strange performance metrics. Seem more interested in short term goals than long term. Poor communication
