Pros

Benefits and time off excellent

Cons

Lack of productivity tools (Sharepoint, Web Ex, Communicator); data environment poorly understood, documented, no data architecture to speak of; no data standardization or governance; extreme focus on security to the point it kills collaboration and results in unnecessary expense. A company with 260+ emloyees and 22 job openings has some issues.

Pros

Very little micro management, totally hands-off. The quesries and projects are very interesting but require a lot more thought and meat to go into it.

Cons

Dept. is at its infancy and as such very unstructured. management has difficult time communicating what they want and prefer not to interact. In the 5 months I worked there I had three interactions regarding the work.
