My DM was mid maternity leave when I was hired so I wasn't able to build a very good relationship with her (not her fault at ALL, I just wish I could have had a better one-on-one relationship). Upper management could be kind of cliquey and rude. Looking back I think my store manager ruined any relationship I/we could have had with upper management because she felt so strongly that they were incompetent and also was anti-spirituality and occasionally racist/transphobic to our employees and guests

Low pay, lots of drama, inexperienced managers, upper management pits employees against each other, they’ll call you greedy if you ask for a raise, they make you harass customers but there is no benefit as you do not get a portion of their sales, only the company does. The current model makes the entire work experience stressful and competitive even though they claim to be “family” High turnover
