Pros

- Decent vacation package - Summer Fridays - Some good people that are trying hard to navigate and get things done - Convention in London - CEO tried to improve comms from Ascential, which was nice. But still didn't provide us the information we needed at the Edge level. - This is the first company I have been at that has actually tried to make diversity a priority. This is great! Though it was sad to see how many current employees in the SLC office felt threatened by it.

Cons

- Constant and ineffectual change- In my 2 years at Edge (for the same job), I had 3 different CEOs, 3 different job titles, in two different departments. The constant change in priorities made it difficult to actually accomplish anything. - Poor Communication- Very little communication from managers to lower levels, incredibly poor communication between teams. Along with the constant change, it meant that no one ever knew what was happening. The staff supporting our clients often didn't have any of the information that they needed to actually help. - Buggy products/understaffing- Constant issues with the product meant constant issues with clients. If there weren't constant fires to be put out there might be enough staff, but due to all the time that has to be spent trying to address issues (with EVERY client), there are just not enough people. Everyone is overburdened but then thrown under the bus if their client is unhappy. - Employee retention/value- So much turnover! Pay so-so, no bonuses.

Pros

- The company has made a couple of intelligent outside hires in the Senior Leadership team since Edge was created a year ago from merging 4 eCommerce / retail insights companies. - Strong work-from-home policy which gives employees flexibility. - Co-workers are generally positive and eager to do good work. - eCommerce intelligence is a growing vertical.

Cons

- Some Senior Leadership individuals who were part of one of the 4 previous companies before Edge was formed have found themselves with much greater responsibility than they had previously. As a result, many appear to be well out of their depth. - Co-CEO situation is strange and seems to lead to delayed decisions. - Communication would be a con in many organizations and merging four companies into one makes that even harder, but the communication is particularly poor. Even allowing the the obvious miscommunications in forming Edge, business updates are very rare and inconsistent. Ascential's CEO produces a monthly newsletter which is helpful - at a minimum, something similar from Edge would be a start. - Ascential's (the company who own Edge) expectations are that together the 4 companies working as one would achieve massive growth. While I anticipate that will happen eventually, Ascential expected that to happen immediately which has led to wildly unrealistic expectations in revenue projections and product enhancements. - I'm sure many individuals who were part of one of the 4 companies before merging to join Edge need time to adjust from the fast-paced and sometimes hectic way of working at a smaller company to the now more methodological way of working as part of Ascential. But I know there are frustrations that due to the increase in processes required by Ascential in being a publicly traded company, often the most talented individuals are tied up in admin rather than working on the things they are best qualified to help with.

Thank you for that feedback. You are right that the work has been a bit different from QA to DA for a time, but this work has gone back to DA work and we are happy that the work has stabilized. We are sad to see you go and wish you well in the future!
