Pros

Pros: Variety of coffee options, company buys lunch sometimes, the chairs are comfortable, parking is always available, in a good location right off the highway.

Cons

Managers will show favortism to employees that have been there longer. Managers will not hold their more tenured employees accountable for their actions. I was targeted the moment I walked in. They operate in a high school mindset. It's very clear who the "cool kids" are. If you attempt to stand up for yourself to their bully behavior, managers retaliate and HR covers it up. They have no problem telling you that you should look for another job because they don't have any plans on giving you a good recommendation to move around to other departments and excell in your career.

Pros

I guess a pro would be that they give employees ice cream on Friday's. Probably to make them feel better about working a minimum of 45 hours a week for a very small wage.

Cons

Edmentum dangles a carrot and hopes that you run for it. It is known to eliminate people's positions and give the work to someone else with the promise of a promotion and hiring help. Every year, in November they state the company is not doing well and they will be eliminating jobs. After they weed out the people who are not ancestral to the business, they start their "sales has exceeded the 200% goal" propaganda. The red flag should have been when I lost count of after 35 people either quit or was let go within a 3 months span. This continued on until the day I left. One manager lost 8 people within a years time (6 of them were in less than a 2 month span). They continued on with this manager. Seems to me, that they should look into that.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review and I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. At Edmentum, we actually provide a very generous PTO package, holiday pay and even volunteer paid time off for our employees. We have a policy in place that actually ensures employees use their PTO throughout the year. We also as a company have a holiday shutdown where we close for the last 1.5 weeks of the year so employees can have a long break and spend time with their family and friends. Work-life balance is extremely important to us at Edmentum and we were actually just recognized by Forbes Magazine as the #1 company to work for that offers flexibility work opportunities. Thank you again for your review.

Pros

The CSM team was great. Too bad the company keeps driving them out

Cons

The company is entirely run by the investment firm (Vistria), and all decisions are handed down based on their demands. This results in a toxic work environment and trickles into all aspects of the company. I personally witnessed and was subjected to unethical business practices and tactics at the direction of upper management in attempts to secure purchase orders. Upper management doesn't have any interest in the sales rep's professional integrity or customer relationship, they are simply trying to please Vistria Capital. The comp plan is convoluted and extremely low-paying, even at and above quota it's well below what other companies provide. Because there are so many hoops to jump through to "unlock" the higher percentages, it is also difficult to achieve under even the most favorable circumstances and best individual efforts. This is by design to avoid paying out big bonuses to the sales team except under the rarest of circumstances. The products are stale and ineffective, and thus not in demand in the market. The majority of business comes from their credit recovery products, which do meet a specific need for schools and students. However, that's generally a fairly static number for schools YOY and so it becomes a very transactional sales process. The other products in the portfolio are either outdated, ineffective, and/or insufficiently robust to position against competitors. Onboarding was nonexistent. I would say their onboarding was terrible, but that would indicate they had any onboarding structure at all. They provided a spreadsheet with a list of online modules to take, and nothing more. The high turnover of sales and CSM is a clear result of the lack of investment in their people. Finally, all their lip service about caring about students is pure garbage. The only people in the company who truly care about improving student outcomes is the CSM team and most of the sales reps. Upper management, ownership, and certainly not Vistria Capital are only interested in their own paychecks. (which are substantial. Pretty shameful when you look at their AWFUL compensation for sales and customer success)
