What bonus???

Pros

Not quite sure what pros to include here besides the ease of getting hired. So if you don't mind subbing at their rate then why not.

Cons

Edustaffs response about low pay talks about bonuses. It gave me the impression that they made the pay higher across the board. So out of curiosity I called them to find out what this meant. The person who answered the phone wasn't quite sure. But she thinks that it's for subs who sub for so many days will get a "bonus". But did not elaborate what it is. First of all, who gets the opportunity to sub so many times??? That's only driven by need. Subs have no control of this. So in other words, a sub has to attain a level to get a bonus. But isn't this already the case?

Thank you for your review. You are correct that the district sets the pay rate for substitutes, but we would encourage anyone with questions to contact our HR team directly at 877-974-6338.

Pros

Make your own schedule, get out of work at either 2:30 or 3:30

Cons

Only get paid for 7 hour shifts, decent pay is only offered at the understaffed schools, which is still only 12.50/hour.

Thank you for taking the time to review EDUStaff. We value your feedback. We are always in talks with our districts in regards to pay rates and implementation of bonus programs for our substitute employees. As of the 2016-2017 school year, many bonus programs have been put in place and we have seen pay rates increase across Michigan schools. We are convinced that we are beginning to move in the right direction. If you have any questions If you have any questions on pay or have any general questions that you would like to discuss, please call our direct line (877.974.6338).

Pros

They address concerns in a timely manner and are fairly easy to contact if you have an issue. Unlike the competitor company. Pay is on time and accurate. Working as a sub can sometimes lead to actual job in school, as staff get to know you, see you work, and you can connect with teachers and principals.

Cons

Pay is not too great, and if you sub for paraprofessionals in some districts you get far less; its almost like you have much less value.

We do believe that pay rates are a reflection of fill rates.
