Pros

Edward Rose & Sons is a company that offers a variety of positions ranging from entry level, to management and corporate level careers spanning across many states throughout the US. I find it comforting to work for such a large, well-established, and stable company. Knowing that they've been around since 1921 and are ever expanding gives me a sense of security that not every company can provide. There are opportunities for advancement based on your job performance, desire to advance and availability. I began working for Edward Rose in 2001 as a Leasing Consultant; I progressed to an Assistant Property Manager and eventually was promoted to Property Manager. This company gave me the opportunity to be as successful as I chose to be. I feel extremely fortunate to have found a career within a company who values their employees and often promotes from within.

Cons

They have no communities in Hawaii. I would really enjoy managing a community in Hawaii.

It does require a desire and hard work to move up within the company, but you have proven that it does happen and we are very grateful to have so many employees that have the same drive that you do. I feel the same way, because I too have moved up within the company starting in a Leasing/Office Manager position and working my way up to where I am now. Also, I have to say, I think that I would enjoy working in Hawaii as well. Although I think a month long vacation there could be great too! Lol! You never know, maybe someday Edward Rose & Sons will decide to build there. :-) Thanks again for leaving such a wonderful review. Pros

Every site is Different. They will promote within. Ability to take time off can be easy (depending on which property). Some managers are great to work for (depending on which property). Met some great people working for this company. The daily tasks are always changing.

Cons

Not every property has a good regional and/or property manager, and some are horrible at the job. Company policy is applied differently to every employee. Example the drug policy is only used to the detriment of a "bad" employee but they will turn a blind eye for one they like. The company will always take a managers side over an hourly employee. They will hold you back from moving up in the company if they can not fill your position. The top will order the cheapest parts possible even if that means maintenance has to repair that part constantly. The company health insurance sucks, if you have a family you will pay more that you make.

Worst work experience I've ever had!

Pros

The pros are very very short. You get an ok discount on your apartment. And if you're ok working lots and lots of over time the pay can be ok.

Cons

First of all the corporate does not care about their people in any way, shape, or form. It's all about how you can the most amount of money out of everyone. Management is a joke. At my property the assistant manger was so stressed she almost cried everyday while the property manager did absolutely nothing but play on his phone and talk about his personal relationship problems. At one point I worked 2 weeks straight no days off, because they can't keep a property staffed. And the base pay is awful you can make more money working fast food. They never want to fix anything so residents constantly scream at you. I could go on for days.
