      Pros

      The salary was comparatively high, some of my coworkers were nice and I am still in touch with a few of them. Hours were also flexible, as was PTO.

      Cons

      There was no marketing budget, no direction, no guidance, and no set list of expectations or vision from leadership. With no other people in the department and an expectation to create things on a zero dollar budget, it was a challenge to get anything done or approved. Most of the people working there were also folks on H1B visas or OPTs, so there was no 401k offered either. We would get moved around without warning from office to office within the suburban office building we worked in, and some of the rooms had very little ventilation.

      Pros

      Worked in EGen for more than 4 years and it was a very good experience as I learned a lot in my tenure. In-house experience was really good! EGen helped me by introducing many new technologies and tools. We used to have a lot of hackathons, Friday tech talks, and many group discussions. Engineers in the company are really talented and it's always a good learning experience even when we just do dev talk and share the experience. CEO is very encouraging and tries to provide whatever you need to improve and grow. Feels a bit safer if you are an immigrant since the company takes care of you pretty good.

      Cons

      I feel there is a need for more opportunity in the marketing side and still more involvement and more 1 on 1s with the engineers who are working as consultants.
