Pros

Autonomy, work-life balance, potential for income, although diminished from what it used to be. Benefits are still decent, but also diminished from what they used to be.

Cons

Pay and benefits are declining at an alarming pace. Benefits continue to diminish each year, along with compensation, while expectations of performance increase. Management reeks of cronyism, bordering on corporate inbreeding. Expect frequent and continuous threats from management. Fear and intimidation are the foundation of their management philosophy. There is a scene in the movie, 12 Years a Slave, when the cotton is weighed at the end of the day. This scene perfectly captures the spirit of the "daily calls". This isn't a career path to invest in long term. You deserve better, don't waste your time at this company.

Pros

Some good colleagues with a lot of good intentions. Those forming the base of the company, would love to work together and get good results. Pay is reasonable and benefits are up to market standards.

Cons

Unfortunately, those good colleagues will get demotivated due to poor management and lack of support. This will result in either them leaving or just not bothering about it anymore. Due to high level politics, cross department cooperation is extremely difficult. It's all about pointing fingers and nepotism. Lack of vision and a backbone, result in poor business decisions. Employees pointing out issues or making remarks will be either terminated or left aside. HR should think about the employees and guide managers, not just act on what managers want.
