Pros

To be specific, this review pertains to EA - Tiburon in Orlando. Studios ad teams can vary greatly within gae companies. The best reasons to work at EA Tiburon are that you will be working on very high-profile and multimillion selling gmes. The pay is decent an the benefits are fantastic - great insurance, 4 week sof vacation in your first 2 years and then 5(!) after that. The office is nice to work in - nice amenities and a great IT/Faciltiies staff. People there are smart and (for the most part) motivated. It's in a nice immediate northern suburb or Orlando.

Cons

Again, this is for EA-Tiburon, specifically. The primary downside to working at Tiburon is the daily environment. It is EXTREMELY sharky (no pun intended) and political. There is not a ton of true collaboration and helping each other out. There are layers and layers of middle management eager to justify heir own jobs and throw each oher under the bus for a nickel. Also, with most games coming out each year, you will be hitting a solid shipping crunch for 2-3 monts out of every year. It is an extraordinarily corporate environment for a game developer. There are lay-offs about once every 2 years, but that's pretty common in this industry.

Pros

Name recognition, interesting and successful high-profile projects, quick to market time, new experimental business model could pioneer within the company. Great team to work with at the moment. Plenty of opportunities to get input in.

Cons

Cog in the wheel treatment of low to mid-level employees.

Pros

It is a cool company making cool products and the brand name is very well recognized

Cons

No work-life balance, 75 hours a week are normal, highly political, no cooperation and collaboration, senior management is more concerned about their own job than the company or its employees. Unless you are a VP or above, you will not matter and nobody will listen to you.
