      Pros

      Benefits, manufacturing folks, union shop, when it was Philips we were treated better and the facility was taken care of

      Cons

      New management, poor vision, workers are treated poorly with little respect for the hard work that is performed. No work life balance- we used to work all the time however this past year we had more time off-we weren't required to work mandatory overtime-new contract, no people skills.

      Pros

      This company is one of a very few manufacturers of molybdenum and tungsten in the world. Elmet sells into a range of cutting-edge industries from flat panel display, semiconductor, sapphire growth, medical equipment and devices and others. The company has been under new leadership since 2012 and is re-inventing itself with significant investments being made in people, equipment, development, and technologies. Great culture, challenging work environment, and forward thinking leadership.

      Cons

      Reinventing an 85+ year old company takes a significant, focused effort, so there is a lot of work that goes into managing production with older processes and the older equipment in the factory (which is only a portion of the factory). The markets we sell to are very dynamic which can put really challenge on everyone from sales and customer service to manufacturing to try and meet our customer's needs. Positive side of this is that there is a lot of work available.
