Pros

Large local company in Daytona Beach that employes a lot of people. They have a great reputation that they covet and they protect that reputation at all costs. ERAU also pays well. Health benefits are average/competitive with other organizations. The time off is excellent and the 403B matching is good too. So overall, the benefits are good. Some managers are excellent and others are not.

Cons

Embry-Riddle has some extremely poor managers who create bad environments for their team. These managers are not identified and weeded out by their manager and not by HR either. In some cases, sadly, they are promoted. The org structure is constantly changing and there is a lot of competitiveness between the campuses. Upper management message is not consistent with ERAU operations. People who leave are NOT welcome back despite what may be said. Be prepared for an aggressive,vs assertive, environment where who you know is more important that what you deliver and how you treat people.

Pros

Free tuition for self and dependents, summer hours, academic setting

Cons

Too many "managers" and "directors"; you won't be able to take courses because they overload you with work; only the higher-ups get to enjoy the perks; very "clique-oriented" ; management's priority is protecting their jobs; this is a for-profit business masquerading as an educational institution

Pros

There are good benefits such as: generous time off, free tuition, and gift donations to 401k. Most employees do care and want to help and do a good job.

Cons

There is not a vested interest in the employees and students. The environment has gone from good to bad over the 10 years I've been here. The upper management is all about money and their image. Employee development is lacking. There is not an avenue for employees to contribute to the improvement of processes. In contrast employees are expected to put their head down and follow whatever ridiculous decision is made from management. When you do attempt to understand changes that don’t make sense, you are labeled as pushing back and a trouble maker. You will be pushed out if you are not in the clique and will not be promoted regardless of qualifications. The leaders chosen are because of the buddy system. This place is a great place to work if you do not want to advance and enjoy a factory worker type environment where you just take directions and don’t ask questions.
