Pros

The product had potential. But after that, its slim pickings. Came here with excitement, now I’m here for a paycheck.

Cons

Extremely toxic culture like most have said prior. Most colleagues work out of fear due to seeing the surrounding environment. Most positivity comes from Executives who don’t actually work in the field. Boiler Room mentality.

Pros

BuildOps offers a lot of opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact, especially if you enjoy building things rather than just maintaining what already exists. Leadership is open to new ideas and willing to invest in improving how things get done. It is a good environment for people who want visibility into their work and the chance to shape processes rather than just follow them.

Cons

Things move fast, and processes are still evolving in a lot of areas, so priorities can shift and structure is not always fully defined. This suits people who are comfortable figuring things out as they go, but it can feel less predictable if you prefer established systems and clear precedent.

Pros

Strong product-market fit in the commercial construction and field service industry. Customers are genuinely excited to modernize away from legacy software. Fast-paced environment with the opportunity to make a visible impact. Cross-functional collaboration gives SEs visibility across multiple parts of the business.

Cons

The product has potential, but from an engineer's perspective it's clear there are still a lot of usability issues. Simple tasks often take more taps than they should, and the app can feel slow when you're trying to update jobs in the field. Connectivity problems make it frustrating when working in areas with poor service, and syncing isn't always reliable. It also feels like many features are built with the office in mind instead of the technicians who use the app all day. Workflows can be clunky, and small changes often require multiple screens or extra steps. Instead of making my day more efficient, it sometimes adds unnecessary administrative work. Customer feedback doesn't always seem to translate into meaningful product improvements, and updates occasionally introduce new issues while leaving long-standing ones unresolved. There's definitely room for improvement before I'd recommend it to other service teams.

Thank you for sharing this. We appreciate the callout on product-market fit and cross-functional collaboration, and we also recognize the concerns around the mobile experience. Mobile is going through an update right now with a strong focus on technicians' day-to-day needs. We value input from team members who are close to the product so we'd encourage you to continue sharing product feedback directly with our Product team through our internal channels. If you'd like to share more about your experience, your HRBP is always available to connect. -BuildOps Team
