Pros
The pay is ok for the St. Louis area and the co-workers are very good. Nice new and clean buildings and a good cafeteria.
Cons
Demand for very long working hours 55-75/wk is the norm No recognition for extreme efforts. I've been told by my supervisors that they refuse to acknowledge hard working employees because then they would just come to expect it. There is little to no opportunity for career growth and advancement. Little to no training opportunity. Supposedly there is a education benefit but the managers refuse to approve even job related classes. Most mid to higher level jobs are all filled by people outside the company. The few promotions you do see take forever. Not uncommon to work at an advanced level for 5+ years before promotion to that authority level. Management places little value on the experience and business knowledge of employees Budgeting and estimating are extremely poor. Deadlines are determined without any basis in the amount of work required or the number and skills of the workers available. The company is also embracing the off-shore business model. There are a few departments now that are committed to sending much of their staff overseas and it looks like this concept will be expanded on in the future.
