Limited progression, company values don’t reflect real world - Manager HGS Employee Review

Poor progression options. Willing to have people working in development roles with no real appraisals or promise of a permanent role. When people have progressed to management they have ended up leaving because of work load expectations, poor recruitment of staff, little/no development options into different areas of the business. No offer of additional training/qualifications despite always talking about investing in people. Directors are based offshore, barely visited the Preston site in many years of working there, which makes them completely out of touch with employees. Strict, ‘black and white’ disciplinary procedures and some members of management and HR quite unwilling to give people a chance to improve. This creates a negative culture with staff and actually drives poor behaviour because people don’t feel valued. No pay rise discussions for 5 years .
