Pros

Good employee culture and work life balance - HR puts a lot of effort into really good events

Cons

Top-heavy management No transparency - they were talking about plans to bring everyone back to the office right up to the moment that they nuked a good portion of their workforce with surprise layoffs

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that the culture, work/life balance, and corporate events are fantastic here at MasterControl. We have such a great team! So sorry to hear that you felt there hasn't been enough transparency from leadership recently. 2020 was a challenging year and we were impacted by COVID just like a lot of other companies in our industry. We, unfortunately, had to make the difficult decision of doing a company-wide restructuring - and we had countless conversations, and did a lot of research and financial modeling to handle it the very best we could. We are truly sorry that you didn't like the way it was handled or that it felt like a surprise to you. Please feel free to reach out to HR if you'd like to continue this conversation. We would love to speak with you!

Pros

Great people and culture. Solid benefits, Health insurance paid 100%.

Cons

Comp is ok. Promotions are almost impossible to get. Constant layoffs, maybe 5-7 times in the past 12 months? Engineering leadership is constantly switching priorities and lacks vision, transparency, and ownership. Long-standing traditions are now being canceled, likely to save money. Poor AI posture in engineering. Engineers are encouraged to spend ridiculous amounts on AI tokens, then the company does layoffs because it spent too much on AI.
