Pros

For a corporate environment, they treat people well. There are good benefits and decent, transparent leadership. Work life balance is good. I think the c suite actually care about employees.

Cons

We had a reduction in force in engineering last month. We let go of a lot of high performing engineers, architects, managers, UX etc. Some of them were recent hires. Based on reported numbers in company meetings etc. we are very likely to have layoffs again to meet investor expectations on R&D spend unless revenue increases substantially. The layoff package is allegedly about 2 weeks of pay with an extra week of pay for every year worked here.

Good company on the decline

Pros

Great people and culture. Solid benefits, Health insurance paid 100%.

Cons

Comp is ok. Promotions are almost impossible to get. Constant layoffs, maybe 5-7 times in the past 12 months? Engineering leadership is constantly switching priorities and lacks vision, transparency, and ownership. Long-standing traditions are now being canceled, likely to save money. Poor AI posture in engineering. Engineers are encouraged to spend ridiculous amounts on AI tokens, then the company does layoffs because it spent too much on AI.

Pros

Lots of challenging things to work on, great colleagues

Cons

Lack of ownership of decisions by leadership, constant quiet layoffs, favoritism in promotions, disproportionate workload owned by those that have the required skills, massive culture change over the past five years
