The fear from constant and often pretty shocking layoffs made people anxious

Lots of lay offs, company has struggled to find its direction, lots of leadership changes, workload increase due to lay offs, They are trying to sell the company or get new investors, lots of changes and no real clear direction forward.

Management is a joke. Layoff over layoff, they abandon the products. They fire the only people knowledgeable about the products and hope others will somehow succeed. Very poor decision making.

Comp is ok. Promotions are almost impossible to get. Constant layoffs, maybe 5-7 times in the past 12 months? Engineering leadership is constantly switching priorities and lacks vision, transparency, and ownership. Long-standing traditions are now being canceled, likely to save money. Poor AI posture in engineering. Engineers are encouraged to spend ridiculous amounts on AI tokens, then the company does layoffs because it spent too much on AI.
