The company is desperately trying to pivot to become a Software Development Company & to offer Cloud subscription services. Most of the staff are remote, they primarily reside in India. They hire handlers in the US who are absolutely sociopathic, narcissistic people with ridiculous, fake-bloated profiles on Linkedin, but they can speak with the remote "resources" in their own language and handle them. The company is 20 years behind in everything. We spent countless hours with meetings where the boss is slowly editing Power Point presentations while all the underlings are quietly watching, only speaks when being asked. Productivity doesn't matters, the only thing matters that the reports are looking good. Leadership is unable to make decisions, they barely understand the technology they are supposed to work with. Everything is about keeping / losing faces. Foreign/remote subordinates are frightened to lose their jobs and their US based handlers/managers are reigning over them as mini feudal dictators in their tiny fiefdom. Red tape is horrifying, everything must go through on 20 approvals back and forth for weeks before it can be implemented. Probably the lowest productivity organization I ever worked for. Project management is often just editing Powerpoint slides to represent what has been done, so it can be used as a pretty report for your boss' superiors. What REALLY has been done is irrelevant. And even if you get something done, you might have to keep re-doing it over and over again as leadership cannot make a decision and constantly changing their goals back and forth every week.
