Pros
I had a good trainer. He was smart and he knew what he was talking about. The groups were great if you were particularly stuck at figuring something out but they couldn't help you all the time as they had their own customers to deal with.
Cons
I had to deal with some very difficult customers in my time but none so angry the ones I had deal with while at this company. I can't quite blame them. They get the run around by so many agents by the time they get to you they are irate. Unfortunately, that leaves you to deal with the fall out while trying to assist them with whatever the problem is. I've been threatened with physical harm by these people, they cussed me up and down, and I heard some words that would make a sailor blush. When I tried to get help with management with some particularly difficult customers they told me (as a new employee) that I had to learn to deal with it. Regardless of the fact they just threatened to physically harm me if they ever met me. Supervisors were USELESS. They talked about getting great compensation but they make it nearly impossible to meet their goals when they don't help you dealing with the more difficult customers. When a customer is so angry with the company they refuse to talk to you to tell what the problem is, we as tech support CAN NOT HELP THEM. Something the supervisors have a hard time understanding. I HATE the fact that we are not allowed to hang up on those kinds of customers. While I understand they are angry, we as employees should not have to suffer that kind of abuse. Their policy on customer service is great in ideal but in reality it's not working. If you're reading this and thinking about applying for teleNetwork. DO NOT DO IT. It is the biggest mistake of your life if you do. You will regret it. They money is not worth it. There are better online jobs out there than this company. I am great with customers but the people that call in are either old and you have to dumb a lot of things down or they are at their wit's end and no matter what you do or what you say it will not be enough to make them happy. While I know that you can't make everyone happy, there's no reason to deal with people threatening you and calling you names. Because you are sitting in your own home dealing with this makes it even worse because you can't escape it. It's like being violated in your own private sanctuary. The place of refuge where you go to get away from the stress of work. But, because its in your own home and it's like someone coming into your home and screaming in your face and threatening you. You don't feel safe there anymore.
