Pros

Interesting and really top-notch technology stack, possibility to move between teams and locations, free snacks and drinks. Estonians are dog-lovers and dogs are often can be found wandering in the office. There are free in-house language courses which you can take in addition to government ones. If you are insistent enough, you will be heard eventually. The problem is that this might take time and you might try many levels of management and many different approaches to succeed. It might be hard to build close relationships with Estonians but at Pipedrive work highly reasonable and intelligent people, who are a pleasure to work with. So you at least get decent colleagues.

Cons

It's getting too loud sometimes as people don't respect working atmosphere and you have to hide in a call booth to get some privacy. The worst part is that you get infected by it yourself :) I don't know if this relates to all Estonians or Pipedrive employees only, but people here are chauvinists. It feels that given two professionally identical candidates for a role or promotion, most probably an Estonian (by nationality), a friend or a relative will be chosen. They also won't bother speaking English if you are the only one around who doesn't speak it. Even after you explicitly ask for it. Everybody talks about it in the "smoking corner" but it never reaches public channels. Pipedrive likes to talk about its culture and rough cultural fit check during interviews, but there are many people inside the company who obviously don't feet and yet they are tolerated because of reasons. Another issue which might sound ridiculous is that everybody here works around 6 hours and taking into account smoke breaks and chit-chats it shrinks to roughly 4-5 hours, which means that it might be really hard to reach a person during the day and after 5 pm he will be probably driving home already. I also feel that the company gives its employees so many insights on company business so that if you don't agree with something, you'll find yourself frustrated because your opinion does not really mean anything. Some people are leaving just because of this :) Also, I would be happy to exchange additional benefits (stock options, food, some comfort) in favor of additional money, but there is no such possibility. You might like Windows, but you ought to use Mac.

Pipedrive has been growing rapidly and this has resulted in somewhat overcrowded offices. Fortunately our people in Lisbon already moved to a larger space, people in Tallinn offices will get bigger and better working conditions in a year’s time. Loud chit chats in open spaces are not excusable and we will address this issue. As to the perception that only Estonians are considered for roles or promotions - we would like to share some facts that should bring clarity to that issue. Yes, there are more Estonians working at Pipedrive Estonian offices than people from other nationalities (the ratio is 74 to 26 %), the same applies to our other offices: there are mainly Portuguese working at Pipedrive Lisbon office and Americans in our New York office. Out of the total number of promotions that were received at Pipedrive in 2017, 59% were received by people working in Tallinn and Tartu offices in Estonia: 23% were given to Estonians and 36% to people of other nationalities. We will also try to cover this issue at our following company all hands meetings to avoid it remaining the talk of the “smoking corner”. It is difficult to understand what the accusation of people working around 4-6 hours is based upon. Modern technology, mobile devices have freed us from staying in one physical place to complete a task. In our job adds we say that we offer flexible work environment and hours, but that does not mean that people work less than 8 hours a day. Those who need to leave earlier than 6PM due to family arrangements (pick up kids, drop off kids) are expected to continue working from home. Sometimes people leave the office earlier to take the 7PM call with co-workers in a different time zone at home to avoid staying at the office until 8 or 9PM and to have an early dinner. We hire based on character and we are very specific about the fit - we look for people whose motivation comes from a deep emotional connection to their work; we also believe that working hours or the results cannot be and should not be defined by how many hours people spend in the office. If there are team members who are unreachable and thus hinder others to do their job, this should be brought to the manager and be solved accordingly. Pipedrive will continue to be open and transparent and we will continue to ask for opinions from our employees because considering different suggestions and aspects will improve the quality of our decisions. Anyone expressing their opinion about the direction the company should take, is heard. Whether the company actually takes that direction is dependent on many other factors and variables, but people who have given their opinion should be proud because they have contributed to the overall decision-making process. As to using Macs. This is our preferred operating system and the company has decided to use Apple products for the standardised hardware platform which provides a trustworthy workhorse for everyday duties. Some teams also benefit from using Apple platform, for example our design team uses Sketch, a strictly Mac oriented application. For dev teams it’s easier to use OS X, for it contains Terminal and all Unix based tools that our devs need and love. Macs are also continually shown to suffer less attacks than Windows-based PCs, the components are optimised for performance and to require less power and the screens are known for their anti-reflective coatings. People are our most important asset. We wish the author would consider turning to HR for us to better address the issues at hand, especially exchanging additional benefits to a reviewed salary. We look at feedback from our employees as input that we can use to improve. PS! We owe you an apology - we had the reply ready early this year but have seem to have forgotten to post it, we're sincerely sorry about it

Pros

Great team! Lots of room to learn about things that really interest you, even if there is not an open position at that time for movement in that direction. Supportive environment all around. I have a name, I am not just an employee ID number. Management really cares. You can reach out to anyone in any department, and it's never an uncomfortable experience. The willingness to teach is amazing!

Cons

Sometimes the availability of a position is determined by your location since the company is international, which can sometimes be limiting, but it does not stop you from being allowed to and encouraged to learn about that path anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, fellow Pipedriver! We're really glad to hear that you feel supported by your team and management, and that you've found a real sense of belonging here. It's especially great to see recognition for the willingness to teach and the openness across departments – creating an environment where people feel valued and can learn and grow is something we care deeply about. We also appreciate your perspective on location-based role availability. As a global company, there are times when certain positions are tied to specific locations, but it's great to hear that this hasn't stopped you from exploring and learning beyond your current role. Thank you again for your feedback – we really appreciate it!

Pros

The company offers flexibility to work remotely, which supports work–life balance. Its global footprint provides opportunities for international exposure and occasional travel across multiple office locations. Many of the people are genuinely great to work with, and those relationships were a meaningful highlight of the experience.

Cons

The company is largely Europe-centric, which is understandable given its origins, but U.S. teams can feel overlooked. Communication to U.S. based employees around company events, office expectations, and broader initiatives is often inconsistent, and teams in this region frequently absorb the impact of decisions without sufficient context or support. Leadership consistency has been a challenge, with noticeable changes at the executive level contributing to shifting priorities and a lack of clear long-term direction. There is also a strong emphasis on executive and senior leadership development, including training and compensation, while investment in growth opportunities for the broader employee population feels limited. Equity offerings are primarily restricted to certain levels, largely management and executive roles. Expanding equity participation to include non-management and lower-level staff would feel more equitable and better aligned with common practices in the tech industry. From an operational perspective, some internal functions could benefit from stronger structure and oversight. HR can feel somewhat insular due to long standing working relationships, and there has been a recurring pattern of payroll and ADP related issues that have required cleanup more than once, particularly around U.S. payroll and tax compliance.
