Pros

Not a whole lot of good things to say other than some of the people you get to work with are great.

Cons

1. Early on in your employment, it feels like there was a bait and switch from what you were promised during the interview process and what the reality is. Remote work, sure. One day a week after 90 days with absolutely zero flexibility otherwise. 2. Micromanagement: RQ loves to tout how they hire only the brightest, top performers in the industry. You can't hire smart, experienced individuals and expect they respond well to micromanagement. Every single moment of your day will be taken up with either customer calls or pointless internal meetings to ensure everyone is actually working. Which means you are never left with any real time to catch up on customer needs or follow ups resulting in working at home after hours just to stay afloat. The expectation is that if you travel (which they really push even when customers don't want to you visit their offices), you work on the plane. If you land in the morning, you're expected to go into the office. 3. Management: No surprise here. No one has any real managerial experience outside of RQ. The age range of "leaders" is in the 26-30 year old bucket. They've grown up in the RQ company culture and have zero concept how toxic it is and that it's not normal. Because of this inexperience, the approach is often times intimidation and bullying to get results. You'll commonly hear that RQ is a very feedback-oriented company which really translates into management criticizing every aspect of who you are and how you do your job. If you even think of giving feedback to management, they'll fire you. I witnessed it multiple times and there is zero transparency when someone is let go, nor are there any performance plans in place to help people overcome their struggles. 4. The executive leadership team quite literally all came from the same fraternity and that is how they run the company. There are mental health coaches to keep people positive by sharing pointless anecdotes around living a better life. There was always a strong emphasis on working out and eating right..making the hard choices. The execs are completely un-inclusive and tone deaf when it comes to anything outside of the Florida bubble they've all lived in the majority of their lives. 5. Absolutely zero emphasis on DE&I initiatives. Creativity and uniqueness are not seen as positive traits at RQ. Everyone is expected to look a certain way and fit into a certain mold. Probably why they frequently recruit for this role from sororities at the Florida universities.

Pros

ReliaQuest has been a phenomenal place to work. One of the biggest things that stands out is how much the company invests in people who are willing to grow. It’s rare to find a company that promotes Business Development Representatives within 10–12 months, but here, hard work and development truly get recognized. If you’re willing to make yourself uncomfortable, apply feedback, stay adaptable, help others, and keep the right mindset, it will pay off. Management sees that effort and rewards it. It’s definitely not an easy job, but nothing great comes easy. What I’ve learned here in about a year is honestly what I believe would have taken me 3–5 years to learn somewhere else. ReliaQuest sees high-potential employees and genuinely wants to invest in them.

Cons

The role can be challenging and fast-paced, so it requires a lot of adaptability and resilience. It’s not an easy environment, but that also creates strong growth opportunities. It's also because of the industry in general!

Pros

My time at ReliaQuest has been life-changing. From the moment you join, the company invests in your growth and development, helping you evolve into a high-performing professional and leader. Since joining RQ, I’ve felt consistently challenged in the best way, while also being fully supported in everything I set out to accomplish. One of the things that makes RQ so unique is the level of support available to help us grow, both personally and professionally. We have two full-time mental performance coaches who are always there to help us navigate challenges and overcome obstacles. They’ve also built a Leadership Foundations program for emerging leaders. After six months at RQ, once you’ve completed a mindset badge and demonstrated excellence in your role, you become eligible to join the program. It’s an incredible opportunity to accelerate your career and learn the fundamentals of what it means to be a strong leader for your team. What stands out most to me, though, is the people. Everyone here is high-performing and pushes you to be the best version of yourself while striving to get 1% better every day. As a company, we truly live out our values—being accountable, helpful, adaptable, and focused—and I believe the people here embody those values every day.

Cons

While the challenge of cybersecurity is what drew me to RQ and this industry, it can also be one of the more difficult aspects at times. To be a leader in AI-driven cybersecurity, you have to constantly adapt to the evolving needs of the market. With that comes change, both within the company and in the work itself, and success requires embracing those challenges rather than resisting them. It isn’t always easy, but with the people around you and the mission you’re working toward, no change or challenge feels impossible.
