Pros

The CEO is a very nice guy overall and is fairly understanding. Everyone at the company is friendly and they often describe themselves as a family. There are many opportunities to hang out with your coworkers outside of work. Most of the time the environment is fairly relaxed, and you get to work with a lot of different technologies (which is great if you're just getting into the field and are looking for some exposure). And it is a very small and new company, so you will play an important role in the company.

Cons

Here's the problem: the company doesn't really understand how software development works. For the work being done, developers are underpaid and underappreciated. Projects are usually underquoted, and most of the time the client expects more than what was agreed upon because of the upselling and overpromising that seems to happen. Because of this, projects are often forced to be done haphazardly, and there is more tension than necessary between the client and the company. More than anything, this causes the developers to feel underappreciated, as something they know should cost a certain amount of money and should take a certain amount of time is taken on by the company at a much lower price. This would not be a problem if this happened in just a few cases every now and then, but it seems to happen all the time. In regards to the management not understanding how software is made, this is most evident in the fact that the sales and management often try to micromanage the developers. The sales guys are basically the project managers, and that right there is a big problem. They don't know even the first thing about development, and basically are stretched thin because they are doing 2 jobs, of which they are really only qualified to do the first. However I cannot stress enough that it isn't the fault of the sales team at all; it's the faulty system that is in place that is the problem. There are no real senior developers at the company. There is no one to really lead the developers and teach good development practices or anything. Everyone is, in terms of experience, a junior developer, and while this in itself isn't a bad thing, it becomes clear after a while that this is an issue. On top of this, the company is spread all over the map, and not really proficient in any of the areas. E-commerce shop customizations (closest to proficient in, and to be fair, this part is the focus of the business), web design, web development, hosting, SEO, etc. Overall, the problem is that the company really doesn't have the experience or knowledge to do anything but fairly basic to intermediate stuff, and if you have any goals of self improvement, you'll hit your growth cap at this company very quickly.

Pros

Scriptilabs is a small company with the perfect opportunity for an entry level developer looking for experience. Straight out of school or even little experience is ok. If the the owner of the company sees potential he's willing to take a chance on you. It is then up to you what you do with the opportunity given. Scriptilabs is a true team environment with a flexible work schedule.

Cons

Really the main con would be the insurance benefits. Of course there is no fluff when you are hired. You know there are not benefits although it is something the company continues to work on. Sometimes the projects can be a little demanding with such a small team but if you are up for the challenge then it's just one more opportunity for growth within the company.

Pros

I've been at ScriptiLabs for some time now and came in feeling like I was part of the team way before I even started. It was nothing short of an awesome first few days. The team helped me on board very quickly and made sure to be there if I had any questions. The team here is very knowledgeable and very approachable whenever something is needed. Collaboration and communication are a big part here and it is great knowing that everyone who needs to know is aware of where you are on what you are doing (not in a micromanaging type of way either.) Office culture is growing and it makes coming to work great!

Cons

I haven't had anything come up here that I would see as a Con. One thing I will say is that ScriptiLabs is not a place you want to up play your skills as you will be pushed to your skill set that you portray. In no way is this bad but it is something to be aware of.

Thank you for time to leave a review for Scriptilabs. Your title is very fitting! It is a fast paced environment and sometimes a little hectic especially now that we have the strongest sales team since the start of Scriptilabs. Ownership and management are huge on communication and thank you for recognizing that! Some portray the communication and being held accountable as micromanagement. This is simply an employee’s easy way out by not taking ownership of how they can improve at their position. Offering benefits at the start of 2015 was very exciting for Scriptilabs. We look forward to continued growth & continued improvement as a company and team in 2016.
