Pros

From the outside looking in, this seems like a small, pleasant, family-owned business. You can go to their Facebook page and see numerous images of the employees drinking together in celebratory fashion and they seem like a tight-knit company. If you have little or no experience in the field, you can still get hired (and if you have the gumption to learn on your own, you can get a good footing in the industry – the management doesn’t have the knowledge in the industry to teach you, so you must be a self-learner). The management, who is all family, is the first to tell you they’re very professional and don’t take anything personally.

Cons

That’s not true. They take things personally. The company’s main (and only) focus is making money for themselves. In countless situations I witnessed the management put their needs before their clients and was privy to discussions in which the management refused to fix issues that were possibly caused by the work ScriptiLabs did for a client. Correction: they would fix the issue, but only if the customer fronted more money. It was not uncommon to hear “quantity over quality” from management, which reflects in the errors I constantly saw in the work and in their hiring strategy (if you can call what they have a strategy).

Employees before Management To suggest that ownership is greedy in some way is simply not true. Anybody that really knows ScriptiLabs understands that we care about our employees more than ourselves. For instance, in the early days, the CEO refused to be paid until he was sure that all of the other employees were paid and the company’s financial standing was in order. Another example of how we run our business is that the CEO insists that we invert the typical hierarchical triangle and insists on placing himself at the bottom. He genuinely believes that he works for everybody in this company and that the supervisors work for their employees on a day to day operational basis. ScriptiLabs gives raises often where justified and will continue to do so as we can. Our salaries are up at least 50% and in some cases 100% from when we first started. We consider it a privilege to be able to pay more to our employees and give them additional benefits. Experience How we hire has changed quite a bit since this was posted. We are hiring more employees with industry experience and working as hard as we can to further develop formal training programs. Having said that, we do like to think that we offer opportunities for somebody with initiative to teach themselves as well occasionally. Taking Things Personally One thing that we have learned in business is not to take things personally. What management has determined is that employees take things personally and we definitely need to do a much better job of how we communicate with them. How we Treat Customers We care deeply about our customers and their well being and will ALWAYS do the right thing. We never say “Quantity over Quality” and have tried to determine where this came from and cannot find one employee that has heard this or felt this way. The bottom line is that we will go above and beyond for a customer. Even if we have under quoted a job, we will make sure that it gets completed even if it means that we will lose money on the job. Just as with any business, there are customers that try to get products and/or services for free. Those cases are dealt with independently and there are times where we have to put our foot down. This will not change.

Pros

Scriptilabs is a small company with the perfect opportunity for an entry level developer looking for experience. Straight out of school or even little experience is ok. If the the owner of the company sees potential he's willing to take a chance on you. It is then up to you what you do with the opportunity given. Scriptilabs is a true team environment with a flexible work schedule.

Cons

Really the main con would be the insurance benefits. Of course there is no fluff when you are hired. You know there are not benefits although it is something the company continues to work on. Sometimes the projects can be a little demanding with such a small team but if you are up for the challenge then it's just one more opportunity for growth within the company.

Pros

I've been at ScriptiLabs for some time now and came in feeling like I was part of the team way before I even started. It was nothing short of an awesome first few days. The team helped me on board very quickly and made sure to be there if I had any questions. The team here is very knowledgeable and very approachable whenever something is needed. Collaboration and communication are a big part here and it is great knowing that everyone who needs to know is aware of where you are on what you are doing (not in a micromanaging type of way either.) Office culture is growing and it makes coming to work great!

Cons

I haven't had anything come up here that I would see as a Con. One thing I will say is that ScriptiLabs is not a place you want to up play your skills as you will be pushed to your skill set that you portray. In no way is this bad but it is something to be aware of.

Thank you for time to leave a review for Scriptilabs. Your title is very fitting! It is a fast paced environment and sometimes a little hectic especially now that we have the strongest sales team since the start of Scriptilabs. Ownership and management are huge on communication and thank you for recognizing that! Some portray the communication and being held accountable as micromanagement. This is simply an employee’s easy way out by not taking ownership of how they can improve at their position. Offering benefits at the start of 2015 was very exciting for Scriptilabs. We look forward to continued growth & continued improvement as a company and team in 2016.
