Pros
I honestly can’t think of any. I guess if constantly being stressed out is some sort of lifestyle choice then this is the place for you, otherwise, the only pro is that their company will eventually go under.
Cons
I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll just list these out in bullet-points, pick and choose what you find acceptable and don’t. I’ll start with easy ones: - No pay raises, little advancement opportunities, low-pay compared to competitors & zero, and I mean absolutely zero, job stability. There, now that the easy stuff is out of the way, here’s the more complicated stuff that should have you running: - They threatened to set my pay to minimum wage & withhold it altogether if I didn’t return my work equipment. I’m pretty sure this is illegal, but don’t care to confirm or not because I knew they’d pull something like this so I got my final pay before I told them I was quitting (something I’d advice everyone to do). I understand that returning company equipment is important, but they immediately threatened me the first time they asked for it back so I kindly told them they could come pick it up, to which they stopped responding. Great culture, huh? - Don’t put a two weeks notice in, it is not worth it. They will immediately fire you and mark your termination as “voluntary” so you can’t get unemployment benefits. I’ve seen this happen to more than 5 people. Your best bet is to not tell anyone anything & stop showing up if/when you decide to quit. They don’t respect you or your notice, won’t pay out remaining PTO, and will lock you out of their computers so you can’t access important documents you may need in your last two weeks. - They will fire you without a moments notice for no reason. Fortunately, this didn’t happen to me, but if they have a client pull their contract (which happens often), they won’t hesitate to put you on the streets. If you don’t believe me, just look at their reviews on here & indeed. They will lie to your face and tell you everything’s okay, or that if worse comes to worse, they will put you in a new position but don’t believe it. Save yourself the trouble & stress and do not work here. - Lies, lies & more lies. I was told that I would be a permanent WFH employee, which was necessary for me as I wasn’t able to make it into the office. I told them this multiple times and each time I was told that they would “work with me” since the position I was in was being forced to return. They did not work with me. Instead, they kept giving everyone false hope, kept having us fill out useless surveys on returning & why we couldn’t, only to force everyone back anyways. Reminder: I was hired to do permanent WFH, it was in a contract and they still didn’t care. This company cares about one thing; how they present themselves. They look really pretty with their trendy logos & their “be ridiculous!” statements, but this is the worst company I have ever worked for. I worked at Subways that treated me with more respect. - Discrimination. I can’t speak for everyone on this topic, but I know for a fact that I was discriminated against due to my health issues. I caught a supervisor red-handed gossiping about my health conditions, mocking me & getting away with it. That supervisor was allowed to continue being a supervisor while I was transferred to a different position. Again, I can’t speak for everyone on this, but if it happened to me, it can happen to you. - I would never accuse a company of falsifying their employee reviews on Glassdoor but if you filter them out from first to last, you’ll notice there are 30+ reviews given on multiple different days. Now, I was under the impression that Glassdoor reviews were supposed to be employees honest feedback, not something incentivized by companies, so I find it hard to believe 30+ people on multiple different occasions decided to simultaneously leave raving reviews without any encouragement from the company. I was never personally asked to leave a review during onboarding, but I will say that the very first link in their intranet is a link to leave a Glassdoor review. All the other links are less important stuff like pay statements & tickets to open with HR. (That last bit was sarcasm) - They are currently under investigation by their share-holders for falsifying turnover rates, profits & all sorts of other things. Google search “TaskUs investigation” if you don’t believe me. Of course, they deny it all, but just think… if they’re being investigated for lying to their own investors, how does that reflect on how they will act towards an employee? Overall, this company easily takes the candle for “worst company I’ve ever worked for”. I’d hardly even say they’re a company because calling them a company implies they have a product to offer, which they don’t. They’re a glorified customer service outsourcing business, and that’s it. If the position you’re hired on for pulls their contract with TaskUs (likely), your entire job is on the line by no fault of your own. I’d stay far away from this company, and then add a few thousand miles. Am I being dramatic? No. They’re seriously that bad. Save yourself some stress and apply literally anywhere else.
