Pros

Culture; the mentality in the office is still very "startup" there is a passion for what we do and where we are going. I became part of the office after the Zillow Group acquisition and I think it is a great partnership, the core values of each company melded and now both companies are benefiting from the partnership. People; Great culture attracts amazing people. dotloop employees are some of the most passionate and forward thinking individuals I've come across. Leadership is very empowering and provide great feedback and welcome suggestions even from day one. When there is still that startup mindset everyone wants to see how big the company can grow. There is every opportunity to grow within the company and you are acknowledged for a job well down. It is hard to have a bad day at dotloop as everyone is very supportive and encouraging. Benefits; I personally took a large pay cut coming to dotloop but my work life balance and happiness in this working environment are worth more than any monetary value my previous employer could offer. The office provides snacks, coffee, and catered lunches (at least once a week). Free healthcare, retirement, stock options, and group activities make it clear that Zillow Group is heavily invested in maintaining and attracting the best talent. Environment; The office is a great space, and only getting better, even after Zillow Group purchased dotloop Austin Allison decided to more than double the office space in Cincinnati. We love this city and I love that dotloop decided to stay and reinvest, the offices are downtown without the hassle of finding parking or dealing with the majority of traffic.

Cons

Cons; Entitlement; this isn't a problem just at dotloop or Zillow Group but more with the workforce in general, at dotloop some of the more senior employees can seem jaded or disgruntled about decisions that leadership/management has made and it can cause a decline in moral. Parking; this is really a problem with Longworth Hall in which dotloop has its offices, Longworth is the "official tailgating" for the Bengal's and on home games, the parking lot is rented out. If you have to work on Sunday it is nearly impossible to find parking, often times getting harassed by the parking attendants, and then the drunk fans tailgating at 8am. (This isn't truly dotloop/Zillow's problem but Longworth Hall should show more accommodations to its long-term tenets who have to work on the weekends.)

Thank you for sharing this feedback. It's great to hear about your experiences with our people, culture and work environment. Ironically, I recently finished reviewing our employee survey results which also reinforced that people and culture are a strength for dotloop! Your constructive feedback is also appreciated. We are already in the process of increasing investments in leadership training for all managers through the introduction of our Leadership Playbook, which aligns with your advice (recognize and reward top performers and hold low performers accountable). In fact, I just had a session today where we spent time on this very topic. I'll look into the parking issue right away. Thanks again. Austin, Founder & GM.
