Pros

Just the residents and coworkers.

Cons

I was a COTA/L and DOR for almost 3 years creating the program with the biggest caseload and highest revenues within the company. I tried to make my "therapy career flourish" and went to OTR school full time and managed my building the entire time. When it was time for my fieldworks, I was promised that I would be able to go take care of them and have my job back upon completion. I even came back to work for a month and a half after my first 3-month fieldwork as previously agreed. But after the second fieldwork, a mere 4 DAYS before being scheduled to come back, I received a call stating that my job was not there for me anymore "we're just not going to move forward with you anymore" and they couldn't give me an actual reason why. To this day, I have been given no substantive rationale for this decision.

Pros

Decent pay, no micro managing

Cons

The benefits were not great and upper management was very disorganized. While I was working for them a number of people above me quit, which led to them asking me to cover multiple buildings without any sort of guidance. I sometimes was not able to get in touch with a supervisor for days.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to read that you feel we have competitive pay and you’re able to work autonomously without being micromanaged. However, we’re sorry you felt management was disorganized and you experienced delays in getting a response. We’re working hard to be a great place to work and the experience you've reported here tells us we have areas in which we need to improve. Thank you again for your insight. It helps us make EmpowerMe Wellness a better company for everyone. We wish you the best!

Pros

I love my work environment, flexibility, and respectful relationship with my immediate supervisors.

Cons

Cuts to Medicare contribute to limitations for financial growth as services are primarily reimbursed by Medicare. When I was hired I was told the company gives annual raises with performance evaluations. In spite of positive feedback, coworkers who recently had their performance evaluations were given no increase and the area director responsible for completing the review had no input in the decision regarding increases. I do not expect a performance increase this year during my review regardless of performamce.

Thank you for taking time to write a review; we value and appreciate your feedback! We’re thrilled to read that you love your work environment and the flexibility it provides! We’re equally jazzed to read that you have a respectful relationship with your immediate leaders. Creating a thriving workplace where our team members feel valued and supported is paramount to our mission and core values. We’re listening to learn and appreciate your comments on performance reviews and alternative incentive options. We’re so happy you’re part of our team, and we look forward to continuing to work together to improve the lives of seniors — one day and one resident at time!
