Bait and switch!

Pros

• Amazing and talented colleagues. • Great and knowledgeable training • Good local PHX leadership, from the director level and below • Incredible clients for the most part • Decent local hybrid policy (for workflow and below, only)

Cons

• Benefits are a joke, only 5 days of sick time, so parents and folks with chronic illnesses are screwed until they get FMLA. Top tier medical insurance is basic at best. No paid maternity or paternity leave. 401k matches at only 3% • Bonuses are also a joke. Enjoy your yearly Danish, without any consideration for people who are diabetic or have specific allergies. Monetary bonuses are 1/10th of what management receives, so enjoy your $125 annual bonus, while salaried employees get $2500+ • Policies change constantly on senior leadership whims, and aren't communicated in a timely manner • They discriminate with requests for accommodations, rarely accepting doctor directed medical advice and instead denying them flat out, because their random policies are more important than their people • Human Resources can't differentiate between FMLA and ADA laws • Leadership makes promises they can't keep because senior leadership agrees, then changes their minds on whim. This makes local leadership look bad when these decisions are beyond their control • Most importantly, the GBTS president and VP are diabolical. They micromanage their own leadership, institute policies they don't have to follow, and get extremely vindictive if you disagree or challenge their policies If you are an experienced document processor, proofreader, or workflow coordinator, you would be better off finding a position in house with a law firm. Better pay, better benefits, and more respect.

Smoke and Mirrors

Pros

There are some really great and talented people at Epiq. Most of the team members are there to do a job that they care about. Many work extensive hours and weekends because they value their client relationships and the success of the company.

Cons

Despite the talent, leadership does not value them. Everything there is smoke and mirrors, even the reviews about them posted here. Look at the positive ones (title/location) versus the negative ones. The company would rather spend time and effort to improve their review rating than actually make the necessary changes. Every year, there are layoffs, so there is no feeling of job security. People have been fired for performance within only a few months of their tenure, having received no coaching, only orders given. Only the most politically minded or least paid leaders are still there. At times, it can be a toxic and abusive environment. Despite the appearance of opportunity, it comes at a price. There are very few companies I have left that I would never consider going back to. This is one of them.

Pros

Decent Pay, Easy to get a job here!!

Cons

Some people have made it to the top without actual management material. They don't like ambitious people. This company is dubious in firing people within hours. Creating false accusations. None of the top management or other staff is more than a year old. Very high turnover. Join the company if you have nothing else lined up. Very toxic environment. Benefits package is worst I have seen so far.
