Pros

Company is committed to its local economy. It is stable and growing. Good opportunities for entry level candidates and interns.

Cons

Management has lost its most important concept-the the company was once a family. Now it is just a business and the tenured employees are being pushed out.

Pros

Good Benefits and Nice Facilities

Cons

Nepotism is rampant within this company. Highly qualified candidates are routinely dismissed due to a candidate of much lesser quality but has a family relationship within the company. This is especially prevalent in the IT and Operations organization. If you want a stable and stagnant job with no professional development Erie is for you. If you are ambitious and want to make a difference stay far away from here.

Pros

The company has a good public image. They talk about the golden rule and doing the right thing. People at this company feel what they are doing is morally right.

Cons

If you work at this company you will become acquainted with what is called being Erie nice. There is also an inappropriate level of coordination between supervisory staff and HR about employees. Some HR staff have daily interactions with supervisors to provide input on how to handle their staff. Your best bet here is to create an alliance with a group of people and hopefully your management like you.
