Bizarre and unprofessional

Pros

The company has an extensive benefit package including healthcare, tuition reimbursement and 403B. The disabled children/adults here will tear at your heartstrings. They will reach out for love and attention which is easy to give to them.

Cons

I was hired to be a Head Special Education Teacher. I came to the company with an advanced degree and experience. I accepted the job expecting to be fulfilling the job requirements of a teacher (writing lessons, writing IEPs, conversing with parents, giving institution) only to find out during orientation that my main job requirements would be restraining students, trying not to get injured, changing adult diapers, going to the home to act as a home heath aide, cutting up food etc. If I had gone into the position knowing I would be doing this then that would be one thing, but hiring someone under false pretenses is wrong. I expressed concern over the duties presented to me during orientation. On a Friday I was thrown into a conference room and let go. They basically threw me out of the place without much explanation. I attempted to follow up with an email which was never replied to. It was the most bizarre experience. If you are seeking to be a special education teacher here, understanding that you will not be doing much that has to do with education. You will basically be a health aide to severely disabled adults and children. You will not only work at the school, but also in the homes.

Pros

I have no pro's for this company! It wasn't a good company to work for! Don't care about any of their employees

Cons

Everything! It was like high school all over again! I didn't get paid enough to get beat up and treated the way I did everyday. If staff didn't like you they made your life a living hell. High turnover rate for a company that actually needs people! Online trainings were a joke!

Pros

The only pro to working for this company was working with the kids.

Cons

All the staff are very unprofessional and this job requires you do more paperwork then see what's in the students best interest.
