Pros

You get paid on time

Cons

CNAs are overworked to the point of breaking, and all the management did was laugh about it behind their backs. The hard workers end up burnt out and fired. Kitchen staff is overworked and treated like garbage. Not nearly enough people employed to make daily tasks do-able but management cuts their hours regardless. Management doesn't care about the underlings. If things go well it's the management's doing. If things fail, it's the staff's fault. When an employee complained to HR and the Administrator, they told the employee's direct supervisor. The supervisor then called the employee to yell at them. Highly illegal. Blatant HIPAA, health code, and moral violations. The residents never come first in the eyes of management and are rarely taken care of properly due to short staffing and overworked CNAs.

Pros

If you have no morals and love the corporate style the long range compensation can be good. you must exercise caution though - it is to the advantage of your superiors to get rid of you before you are fully vested.

Cons

Corporations need to have a purpose beyond making money. After 15 years in the healthcare industry my place of employment was sold to Empres. In less than a year turn over was over 80% when I could not take it any longer. Care for patients was driven totally by dollars first. As a manager I was expected to ignore any patient needs that might cost anything. It was frowned upon to stop and tie someones shoelace - my time should be focused on saving or making money for the company. I am not generally such a sour person - but there is not much to recommend this incredibly shallow organization.
