Lost Employee Trust

Pros

Work from home, benefits were decent & lots of options

Cons

"RIF"- Call it what it really is. Getting rid of employees that cost the company more money so they can be replaced by outsourced services and/or people that don't cost as much or ideally both. Management has had internal employee reviews that are TANKED based on how little trust or good will the employees have for management and they still continue to keep them in the dark, change standards, change requirements and blow up teams under the guise of improvement and being flexible. They have no respect for internal knowledge or history and do not reward loyalty in the slightest if it saves them a few pennies.`

It was real good until it got real bad

Pros

My first few years at Evolve were fantastic, with significant company growth, exciting projects, and a culture of mutual respect and trust. This environment allowed us to move quickly and efficiently. Leadership was involved and supportive, and I was proud to tell people I work here. Despite the challenges of 2023, including multiple layoffs, I still enjoyed working with my fellow individual contributors. The work-life balance was great, and the pay was fair, though raises and career growth stagnated over the past year and a half.

Cons

After the first few good years, everything took a nosedive. Evolve has adopted a mindset where constant pivoting and directional changes are portrayed as strategic, but in reality, just stems from dysfunction, a lack of confident leadership, and a reactive rather than proactive approach. This has resulted in decreased productivity, disempowerment, and demotivation across the company. The ongoing cycle of layoffs, whether publicly announced or quietly executed, only worsens these issues. Employees are experiencing change fatigue as the company struggles to navigate, guided by leadership that seems disconnected and uncertain in their decisions, leading to frequent confusion and revisions as they attempt to find anything that'll work.

Pros

Remote work and that's about it.

Cons

When I started at Evolve I was so impressed with their focus on culture and our experience as employees. They did not pay attention to the changing short-term rental markets in 2022 and hired constantly. In May 2023 they laid off 30% of the company includings folks who knew just about everything about the business. In other words, they laid off people who were central to the business. In September 2023 there was a second layoff and it was handled really poorly. They went with off-shore employees who can't keep up with the company volume. Inay 2024 they laid off more central people during another restructuring. We are thousands of cases behind with less bodies to to the work. You will be micromanaged all day long. It's the most depressing place I've ever worked. Don't bother applying unless you're prepared to be laid off.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review and for your feedback. We understand that we have been through a lot of uncertainty and change, and encourage you to reach out to your department leader to share your feedback and ideas for how we can help you feel more trust and confidence in our direction. We do have processes in place to ensure teammates are meeting expectations of their role in order to ensure equity of work for all teammates and provide a high level of service to our owners. Our intention though is never to make teammates feel they are micromanaged and we will continue to work with our leaders to balance our business and Evolver needs.
