Pros

remote work good people pay

Cons

This company is circling the drain, and it’s not because of the employees. It’s because of the CEO, Brian Egan. The hypocrisy is astounding. We’re told to be a “high-performance company” and warned that if we can’t hack it, we should leave. Meanwhile, Egan’s own track record is one of repeated failure: poor processes, constant mismanagement, and complete lack of strategic vision are the hallmarks of his leadership. The company has burned through tens of millions of investor dollars, never turned a profit, and yet somehow it’s the employees who are held accountable for meeting increasingly unrealistic metrics. Morale is in the toilet. Only 28% of employees would recommend working here, and Egan’s approval rating is a dismal 38%. He recently sent out a video to owners that was riddled with inaccuracies, embarrassing all of us who actually deal with customers every day. Leadership here doesn’t lead. They deflect, they demand, and they mismanage at every turn. Egan has a habit of mansplaining everything, speaking to employees like children while ignoring their real concerns. This company could be great. It could make money. It could be a place people are proud to work. But as long as leadership continues to view employees as disposable and treat them with contempt, there’s no hope. Save yourself the frustration. Don’t work here.

Pros

You can work from home

Cons

Underpaid and the company is very unorganized. The company wants to combine teams and give us more responsibilities but no additional pay. Senior leadership always wants us to talk to our managers about our concerns but never hear from us. The company only cares about their owners and never the employees. Multiple layoffs in the past 2 years.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Firstly, if you’re feeling burnt out, please reach out to your People Business Partner for support. We have multiple mental health benefits we can tap in to and are here to make sure the work you’re doing is sustainable. We recognize change can be challenging. We’re a company that moves fast, and will continue to do so, because that is what it takes to become a category-defining business. As you mentioned, this means putting our owners at the center of everything we do because they’re the ones trusting us with one of their largest assets. Being customer-obsessed and high-performing benefits our teammates, because with happy customers comes company growth and fantastic opportunities for our teammates. The two are very much connected.

Pros

I worked for Evolve for 11 months and was included in staff reduction layoffs. I felt like my director and manager cared about my well-being and work. Decent opportunity to learn new skills. My pay was competitive

Cons

I worked in IT and after coming from a company that was higher growth in a shorter period of time I felt like a lot of people working here just pushed sand. Projects were constantly pushed back or barely completed because external business units can't make decisions. I also felt like the notice given by the CEO regarding layoffs came off terrible. He made it sound like he climbed to the top of a mountain and mediated then decided to let me go which has slowly been eating away my savings and sense of security. I would have preferred to hear that decisions he made with his upper management team didn't pan out. It just really sucked and they've done this multiple times over the years.
