Over-Promise, Under-Deliver

Pros

-Freedom and encouragement to learn new things. -Decent for entry-level experience.

Cons

-Lack of consistency. Expeditors touts the fact that every branch is its own mini business but is this a good thing? Half of every day is spent asking other branches/employess to fix their mistakes because they don't understand the process. -Low pay. Get paid an hourly wage that is less than what fast-food employees make, with the promise that the monthly bonus will make up for it. It doesn't. No wonder the processes are so inconsistent and inefficient. You get what you pay for: low-salary workers with low-level competency and LAZINESS. -Morale-crushing indecisiveness. This may vary from branch to branch, but everything moves slow. Plan to move up? Be prepared to wait 2 years for the promotion even though it was supposed to happen within the next couple months. Management covers their tracks by never outright promising anything--just leading employees on endlessly. -Management is a total boy's club. Are you smart and diligent? Doesn't matter. Managers are overall not well-educated. They just schmoozed to get where they are. -Nepotism. -Dress code. I'm not opposed to wearing a suit, but pay me a salary deserving of a suit. This is misleading to prospective hires who think they may make a decent living here.
