Pros

Express Scripts has an impressive earnings history and a good story to tell Wall Street. Success in the market, however, isn’t the whole story.

Cons

ESI (Claims IT) was one of the most chaotic, dysfunctional places I've ever worked. Local management (Bloomington, MN) compounded the problem with their incompetence, self-centeredness, lack of vision and general mean-spiritedness.

Pros

The people here are very passionate about what they do and you rarely come across someone who isn't willing to pitch in. I regularly use the company awards points recognition process to recognize my colleagues for their extraordinary work and collaboration. I have use award points that I've earned to order great things out of the company catalog...kade spade bags, hotel stays, a tablet..There is no lack of recognition for a job well done here and the mobility is endless. My leadership team has been very supportive of me advancing my career and has even given me assignments that I can use to speak to during an interview where I'm lacking in experience. The great thing about working for a big company like this is that you don't have to leave the company and its great benefits when you are ready for a change. You can stay right here! Our CEO, George Paz, is as real as it gets. I love when he talks to us at management meetings; you feel like you are talking to an old friend, and he's been known to make some pretty funny off the cuff remarks.

Cons

I've heard that your experience depends on your leadership team. If you work for a leader that doesn't have a great sense of work/life balance or micromanages, then you are going to have a terrible experience.....but isn't that anywhere? The environment gets more intense the closer you are to patient care. In the PBM world, everything happens and point of sale. If something goes wrong, a member might not get their medication and that is when stuff gets real around here. It is all hands on deck, but there is always much celebration with your team after you pull through a crisis!
