Pros

- A product that actually does what its supposed to and backed by some of the best infrastructure and teams I have seen. - Company is exponentially growing and there does not seem to be any stopping. - Awesome CEO who is upfront about everything. What he knows, you will also know. - Lots of opportunities to grow as an engineer. New features and projects are constantly in development so you will never get bored working on the same tasks you might be at your job. - Everyone is extremely friendly and approachable. CEO makes it a point to tell everyone to never hesitate to ask for questions or help. - The company is constantly making the right decisions and leading the company where it needs to go, to be extremely successful.

Cons

I have never felt so happy working for a company that I have not been able to process my emotions correctly because of it.

Pros

Working at Extend is rewarding and exciting. Every week we see more and more growth as merchants pour in to partner with us. The culture is laid back, yet very productive, and everyone helps each other. The stock option potential is limitless and the leadership has worked together on several different companies and have a proven track record of success (they sold their last company to DocuSign). We pride ourselves on the mantra "there are no stupid questions." Features are built, tested, and shipped quickly and effectively. There is always something new to learn or challenge yourself with. The PTO policy really is flexible - you are encouraged to take time off when you need it. It's a productivity driven culture, so working from home when you need to is easy and flexible. It's still a relatively small company and a GREAT time to get in early.

Cons

As this is a startup, don't expect big company perks like catered lunches, 401k matching, or cash bonuses.

It's like a work family

Pros

I know it might sound cheesy, stating in the title that this company is like a family, but it is remarkable. There are a lot of referrals in this company and much of the leadership has worked together for a long time. In some cases more than a decade. This means a lot of interpersonal relationship issues have been worked out years ago and a lot of people have been friends in and out of work for years. The end result is this company treats everyone with respect, can be playful and fun, and can do all of this without a bunch of discomfort. It's a very pleasant environment to work and operate in. Beyond the general comfort, people operate with integrity here. This comes from the top down and the bottom up. Everyone owns their work, including mistakes. I hear honest reasons and not excuses for things. People do what they commit to or they inform you ahead of time if something has changed and they can't. This results in a lot of workplace predictability. You can depend on these people. For the aspiring engineers: this is the single most elegant and sophisticated code base I've worked in. Bleeding edge technologies handled with care. Just the right levels of abstraction, always a desire to improve things while avoiding a loss of productivity.

Cons

It's a company in a hyper-growth phase, so not all the kinks are worked out in terms of planning, process and coordination. If you're looking for a wild, hair-on-fire startup experience this isn't it. Things are exciting, but controlled. Work is more predictable than not and there's no megalomaniac shouting crazy things and switching directions constantly.
