Pros

I can't really speak to this, as there has been no effort to integrate myself and my team into Exterro in the wake of them acquiring my previous employer. If there are any benefits to working for Exterro over my previous employer, they have not yet made themselves evident.

Cons

- communication is nonexistent; questions are deferred to direct management, whom are also kept in the dark - layoffs have been regular and unceremonious; combined with the poor communication, we're left feeling like management is simply waiting for the right time to fire those of us who remain - the entire management structure above me was gutted and backfill hasn't been a concern; instead of a manager, product manager, and scrum master, I have one manager who is stretched across several teams - all of the above has resulted in a complete degradation of the culture and camaraderie which made this a good team

Pros

If you only want to do a job and not worry about career this is the place to be. People who have been here for a long time either hold a lot of shares or are too settled with no empathy towards the company itself

Cons

Quite a few. The owners run a tightly controlled ship. There is no autonomy for anything. If you are a junior employee you don't care but if you have prior or little industry experience this is not the place for you. Favoritism politics, infighting is rampant As a business, growth is flat so no real incentive there.

Pros

Work life balance can be solid. A lot of the non-management workers are pretty friendly. Quality product.

Cons

A former middle-management employee said to me "Getting out of Exterro is the best thing for you," and I couldn't agree more. Just about every co-worker I've spoken to in the past 6 months have been unhappy and discouraged with the direction Exterro is headed. Executive Management talks a big game about "caring" and "having employees backs," but it is extremely phony. Employees have been leaving in bunches over the past year, but management keeps it very hush hush so that they can continue to spin their "Exterro is great, everything is great, etc" story. As the company grows by acquisition, communication gets worse, employees get treated worse, morale plummets. During COVID, the CEO gave a speech about "having his employees backs no matter what," and then made an acquisition and fired multiple people.
