      Pros

      A lot of downtime and independence with little to no supervision. Generous PTO. Good benefits. Commission. Uniform and shoe allowance (must order from their approved website). Job security. There are people who have worked for the company for 10+ years. Good hours. 9:30-6. Most stores closed on Sundays.

      Cons

      Very corporate. The higher ups make idiotic decisions that don't necessarily work or make sense. High expectations of customer service. They do secret shops which require you to cover everything on a checklist which you can only miss 2 things on before you fail. Customer interactions are a little bit scripted but not too much. I will never enjoy answering the phone and asking how can I meet your storage needs. These things are to be expected in corporate jobs, so you have to know what you're getting into working for them.

      Pros

      Extra Space is a fast paced company where you are in control of how much you learn and how much you are challenged. Management is always willing to provide learning opportunities if you have the desire. The office space is newly renovated. This is a company that likes to be on the cutting edge of the storage industry and keeps up with new technology. No drama with co-workers. This is the best company I have worked for.

      Cons

      Sometimes upper management in some departments can be resistant to change or change can take a long time because of how many hoops have to be gone through. Pay increases are low and slow. Upper management seems unapproachable.
