Pros

As a lifelong big box retail manager used to a frantic pace, unpredictable schedule, and crazy shifts, I can confidently say that Extra Space Storage offers none of this. If I'm sick, I stay home without fear of being labeled as lazy. If I have a family engagement, my co-workers help me because they have families too and there's an understanding that the favor will be returned. Neighboring locations help each other out all the time and the overall culture is warm and friendly, especially if you do what you're supposed to do. My plan is to retire here.

Cons

Challenges include ineffective communication, inconsistent management practices, insufficient staffing coverage, and compensation that does not align with the workload and expectations for the week. Gossiping district management & District Team Leads, too much alone time to complete all task for one day on a busy week at a consistent clientele location

Pros

Overall, Extra Space Storage is a good company to work for. They do seem to care about low level employees. Bonuses are a nice touch. This job came with full benefits such as health, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous PTO, and a couple paid holidays.

Cons

Pay could be better. It’s not a livable wage. The job itself can be very boring
