Extra Space historically has been a good place to work. Fair-minded, trusting of employees, and interested in their well being.
Cons
The company is becoming much more bureaucratic than it used to be. It is now middle management-heavy, and this is having a real impact on the quality of life of regular employees. If you're passionate about your work, you're going to have to battle management just to get things done. The company also seems to be walking away from its values. Instead of pursuing excellence and innovation, the company seems much more interested in acting fast, even if the work is shoddy. Unfortunately, they don't seem interested in hiring additional talent so we can meet faster deadlines without cutting quality. Extra Space is much less employee friendly than it used to be. There is potential for a return to their values, but I don't know if that will ever happen.
