Pros

Lots of perks like free food and company events (social hour, charity events, even clubs), and good way to learn of financial services and markets by simulating the role of your clients in testing. It is cool to be able to step into the shoes of your clients and witness their workflows and help resolve the issues they come across.

Cons

Culture in QA is downright abusive. We are required to be there for 10 hours, yet do not get any longer than a 30 minute lunch break. The boss even holds meetings for each group of new hires to tell them they cannot eat in the cafeteria and have to take lunch while working at their desks. The work is also quite tedious with no real career growth (consultant is just glorified tech support), and even if you are objectively doing a good job testing the software, you will be reprimanded if you don't "show passion" and look like you're having the time of your life. The threat of being fired is constantly used to scare workers into working longer hours and taking (even shorter) breaks.

Pros

Good pay for post college students

Cons

Salary is not comparable to industry standards. They will raise entry level salary and not increase everyone else's to be on par respectively. Zero work-life balance. Work from home is frowned upon and discouraged. Racism and sexism is also rampant within the company, yet HR (now through SS&C) turns a blind eye as usual. Competency is not a word in their vocabulary. Management is mediocre if we're being generous. Absolutely zero diversity. Management also sees it fit to publicly throw tantrums in front of team members and nothing is done about it. As the previous review said, "it speaks volumes that when someone leaves, 95% of the time you realize it’s someone who was valuable and you didn’t wish for them to leave. They realize that this place isn’t worth their time or loyalty. The mediocre folks swim around and carry on." --They're not wrong. To any potential clients: move your business elsewhere. The Eze software system does not securely store your data/passwords.

Pros

The Client Service teams at SSC Eze are great jobs to start your career. You will work in high pressure situations, learn SQL, ETL, tech and soft skills, and build a solid skill set that will eventually take you to a better company with better pay. The managers and ADs of these teams are also great. They do care about your growth and work-life balance.

Cons

Eze (and SSC) have implemented a rigid promotion and raise structure. You have no hope of early promotions or raises and will follow a 2 year cycle regardless of performance. Also, because Eze has struggled financially for several years, raises have been dismal. In 2019, my last year at the company, I received a 1% raise, despite meeting "Exceeds Expectations" on my review. I know several of my colleagues received 0.5% increase. This doesn't even approach Cost of Living increases in Boston. In desperation, Eze has begun to promise SSC options to compensate for lack of raises, but the date and value of these options has been consistently pushed back. Simply put, Eze does not pay its employees for their worth. When I left, my base salary increased 40%. Eze has begun to see significant turnover because employees with a versatile and useful skillsets have no trouble finding higher paying jobs in a thriving market, which leaves more work for the employees that remain. This is a model that cannot survive.
