      Horrible Management!!!

      Pros

      The people and friendships are the only reason people stay. The SLC facilities and location are nice and convenient .

      Cons

      Horrible middle and upper management. Completely driven by EBITA scores and don't care about the people. Excessive layoffs where employees were told 40% of layoffs would be management. No management has been laid off to date. Management hires and promotes friends and family, not who is qualified. Inappropriate relationships between management and employees and when reported we are told to let it go. I personally went 6 month where my manager didn't speak to me. Horrible company.

      Pros

      There are/were a lot of talented and amazing people at FLSmidth. The compensation is very good (while it lasts).

      Cons

      The bureaucracy is suffocating the real value-added activities. The opinions of very talented people fall on deaf ears. This is a very top-down organization whose emperors wear no clothes. This company has been very destructive to the careers of many by buying companies, then closing sites to consolidate locations, dismantling the very thing which made these companies profitable, then slashing the personnel from these companies. Very destructive approach.

      Pros

      Overall, the day to day teams and local colleagues are great and they balance out the 'cons'.

      Cons

      The executive team acts and makes decisions as if they care zero about people. If it can be outsourced, it will be outsourced. Everyone is out of touch above a certain level. There is no trust or 'good faith' as far as how the executive team sees the general employee population. Everyone is expendible and just a number on a page.
