Pros

The workforce has some amazing people!

Cons

This place is just horrible. When you finally get out, you feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of you. Easily the worst company I've ever worked for. Can't remember knowing any employee there that thought it was a good place. Maybe the ones who thought they were going to get somewhere if they kissed enough butt. But eventually they will be miserable like every other worker. Also not sure how safe the working conditions were. No ventilation, hot as can be. If no fan you roasted. Sand and dust everywhere. Long hours forced on you! Yes, this is a bad place to work!

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience working here. I can assure you that safety is taken very seriously at F+S and is one of the stars that are a part of our five-star program. We are a manufacturing environment and with open bays, at times it can become a bit hot or cold just as other manufacturing environments. Sand and dust are confined to one part of the manufacturing area where also special outfits are worn for protection. We do have some amazing people working here I agree and wonder if we are so bad why did you stay here for 5+ years? Most of our management team worked their way up from the ranks so they know what it is like to work on the production floor. All the best!

Pros

There was a small percentage of people who were taken care of and had advancement in their career and pay.

Cons

I witnessed a woman fired the day before leaving for maternity leave. A huge order was so far behind schedule that the CEO pulled people from their office jobs such as IT, Payroll, and Middle management for weeks to work in production opening crates, sorting products, sandblasting, packaging the products, and loading them back into crates. When this large task was completed Upper management had to convince the CEO to at least write a letter thanking everyone who went way beyond their job. One person was caught doing drugs in the bathroom. So they enforced a sign-out policy to leave your work area and had grown adults asking to take a bathroom break. Incentives were slowly stripped away until they were gone completely. 1. Christmas time meal was replaced with birthday/anniversary lunch, which was then stopped. 2. Saftey hour became harder to achieve until they eventually took it away completely. 3. You used to be able to have an earbud in to listen to music within your work area, but they stopped that as well. In my opinion, working hard and going above and beyond was not rewarded but only taken advantage of and used against you when things went wrong.

Thanks for your review of your time with F+S. As you were a tenured employee with us for quite some time I would assume that there had to be many other positives as well (pay, benefits, Careertrak, etc) to keep you employed here for so long. To address some of your points...yes the XMAS event was replaced by a MONTHLY birthday/anniversary event. This was stopped due to COVID and not for any other reason. We of course still give out the gift cards to each individual for their anniversary recognition. Safety incentives of varied types are still given as well as our Employee of the Month awards. Earbuds present a safety hazard in a manufacturing setting thus due to some safety issues this was eliminated. Music (radio) is still present in work areas if so desired. We had one big project (the biggest in company history) that required all departments to chip in for the company's benefit. Most had to work 2-3 weekend days and free lunch and good camaraderie were provided during this timeframe. Once the project was completed successfully and on schedule not only were thank you letters supplied to all who participated but extra PTO days and other bonuses were provided as well to each employee. Also, a "Happy Hour" for employees was also held after this project ended. Lastly, during my time here, I can assure you that no employee has ever been let go because they were pregnant or due to upcoming maternity leave. All the best with your future endeavors.

Pros

Warning - It showed me qualities to avoid in a company.

Cons

This company is an HR nightmare—bullying in the form of relational aggression, racism & gender discrimination. Several current & former employees have told me that HR has been made aware of the inappropriate behavior multiple times, but no disciplinary action has been taken. Instead of addressing the problem employees, they fire the employees that are being victimized. This is textbook relational aggression, gossiping & complaining about coworkers behind their back. Managers’ response is instead of healthy conflict resolution they just throw people away like garbage. Effects of relational aggression can be quite damaging; we like to think this is petty high school behavior. But people at any age engage in this behavior. They isolate their coworkers & convince managers the victims are the problem. This needs to stop, because of my treatment at this company I suffer from PTSD. After I left, I started seeking professional help & I needed medication to keep from sinking deeper into depression. These effects will be with me for the rest of my life. When I started working there, I was so full of hope. I made good friends, who have been very supportive in helping with my recovery. I am not ashamed to talk about this anymore, if only to save someone else from suffering the way I did.

Thanks for your comments. All issues raised to HR are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Actions are most certainly taken as required based on employees' comments and concerns. No evidence of what you are mentioning has been brought to the attention of HR and we certainly wish you had brought this to our attention sooner.
