Pros

Good benefits. Good people who strive to do the best in spite of many obstacles. Ability to give back to the community.

Cons

High-stress environment - numerous unnecessary fire drills. Inequality - rules and policies apply to the masses but not to all. Excessive waste of resources - both monetary and human. Frequent surveys on employee morale but no action is taken to improve. They hire good people and then micromanage them. No work/life balance.

Great people, excellent commitment to professional development

Cons

Faegre was never the same after the combination. I believe that the firm drastically underestimated the amount of work and strategy needed to unify two large firms from everything ranging from daily operations processes to sophisticated IT systems. After time, everyone got used to everything being chaotic and reactive and it has become a cultural norm. I hope it changes and Faegre becomes an incredible place to work again.

Pros

If you are an attorney or non-attorney leader, it’s great in terms of flexibility and pay.

Cons

The firm works so hard to avoid giving pay increases even when they had an “far above expectations” year. They even eliminated our fantastic supervisor’s role for no reason other than presumably more money for the partners. We now lack true supervisory support. They demand more work and give nothing in return. Even though they respond otherwise to other posts which say the same thing.
