Good for people who show initiative

Pros

Faithlife has lots of room to grow. Positions are awarded on merit, initiative and potential, rather than solely on past experience. There is a lot of trust from managers to do your job. Flexible schedule and 'unlimited' vacation are really nice.

Cons

If you don't put yourself out there and fight for what you want (position, money, etc), you probably won't get it. Hard to get ahead if you don't show a lot of initiative. (This is a pro and a con.)

Pros

* Profitable company not afraid of investing in emerging technologies to stay ahead of the latest tech trends * Invests in employees for the long-term, including frequent optional training and growth opportunities * Company policies/handbook are simplified to 7 core values that are taken seriously H-O-A-G-I-E-S: Honesty, Openness, Awesomeness, Growth, Initiative, Elegance, Shipping * Flexible work environment with remote opportunities, ability to easily work around life events to help ease stress on employees, and easy for developers to move between teams as interests shift * Unlimited vacation policy * Crunch-time is nearly non-existent * CEO trusts his developers and is a software developer himself so truly understands at a technical-level all the company's products * CEO is a visionary who foresees how to keep each product relevant and ahead of the competition as technology evolves * Logos is bigger than just software - Logos is a leader in several areas dealing with digital media and has many super talented teams across several disciplines who work together efficiently to deliver products that are like no other

Cons

The only negative that comes to mind, which is really a positive, is the fact that everyone takes their job/work so seriously and it breeds a competitive work environment. You will feel the pressure to constantly grow and become better (which is a core value, btw). At times this kind of highly-driven, fast-paced environment can wear you out but this is where the unlimited vacation really balances things out as you can take the time you need to to re-energize.

Great Company for the Self-Motivated

Pros

If you're self-motivated (a go-getter), Faithlife may be the company for you. Faithlife requires a lot of their employees, but rewards with a great time-off policy: there isn't one -- you decide. You have to be smart and get things done to succeed at Faithlife, but if you're willing to take risks (and treat the company's time and money like it's your own), you can succeed. You can find opportunities in this very entrepreneurial environment that you simply wouldn't at other companies. But you have to be willing to risk your job to do so. If you would risk your job to do what you want anyways, and are passionate about the mission of enhancing the church's work, you will probably love working at Faithlife.

Cons

With the flexible time-off policy comes high demands. You have to be willing to push yourself to the limits to succeed. This can make work-life balance at Faithlife very difficult. You also have to be willing to advocate for your own pay -- and make a very strong case. It's hard to make really good money at Faithlife, unless you're a developer. For everyone else, they have to push -- and prove their case. (And that doesn't mean showing what the industry would pay you -- it means showing why you're valuable to Faithlife.) If you're willing to be this bold, you will be fine; if you're not, it may not be the company for you.
