Pros

I've made great friendships with some of my coworkers over the years. Flexible hours. Recently improved benefits. For most of my time with the company I would've given it a 4-star review.

Cons

In the past couple of years Faithlife was sold to a private equity firm, and sadly, all the stereotypes of a change like that have come true. The Founder/CEO of the company was forced out and replaced by a former Amazon Exec who unfortunately brought the Amazon culture with him. The company has lost its culture/soul and now treats employees more like assets than people. There were recent layoffs where executives picked who to eliminate with no input from senior managers, undermining any trust across the whole company. Products were discontinued and customers were strung on for months before we gave an honest answer. Faithlife is seeming to become a company with a goal of profit for our investors instead of serving the church.

New Leadership is Terrible and Clueless

Pros

Faithlife's software is great. The previous owners cared deeply about the company and people but the new owners of the company only care about money. Some employees are great co-workers. There are good values in those who embody them. The company is not woke and hasn't caved to social justice warriors or liberal trends.

Cons

The equity firm seems to only care about the bottom line and has replaced leaders or put leaders in place who have been clueless. The previous COO was terrible. New VPs have come in and slaughtered departments out of ignorance. So many decisions have been made without the right kind of input. Leaders don't listen, don't seek input, claim to care but absolutely don't, claim to appreciate you but lie through their teeth. They are really hypocrites and untrustworhty. They play favorites and are in no way impartial. The new CEO seems nice and committed to the vision. But most leaders under him are completely incompetent. They are gutting things that have been succesful and focusing on things that are doomed to fail. All I'm seeing is a spirall downward over the last few years and especially recently. There is no trust of VPs and other senior managers or leaders because they have a record of lying, misleading, and just being terrible leaders and poor decision-makers. How some of them got hired or promoted is a mystery. Some of the best people were let go while others who apparently play the game right but are clueless were elevated. Now we're in the boat with these incompetent "leaders." The morale at the company is at an all time low. Faithlife is not on a road to success. The equity firm has made things worse and it seems that people without any knowledge of this market or software are making big decisions that are misguided. I would say that half the company right now is dusting off their resumes.
