Pros

Experience. They take care of equipment. Good UHU. There's a good amount of turnover so landing a full time job is almost guaranteed. Great stepping stone for fire jobs.

Cons

Poor pay. Corporate and regional management prevent (justifiable) pay increases. This agency pays lower wages than other private EMS agencies. They lose a lot of good employees due to poor pay and make up gaps in their schedules by mandating work. It is not uncommon to get mandated 4-6 hrs over a shift. This has caused more people to leave. They now have begun mandating overtime on off-days.

Pros

The one pro about working there is the casual attire you are allowed to wear. We wore jeans almost every day.

Cons

Houston location is horrible. There was a prostitute cut up by her pimp in the parking lot and one of the instructors had a vehicle stolen there in the middle of the day. Upper management does not care about employees and views them all as expendable. They also pay way below market even when the economy is booming. Very political and they will run off the good employees and keep their friends and people that they can control.
