Read all fine print before signing the contract. Realize what a 1099 contractor means vs W2 before signing on.

Pros
Broad product line offering across many areas of insurance as well as investment products. Some unique business insurance products offer good competitive advantage. Quoting software runs well.
Cons
Don't believe everything you hear when "hiring on" from managers. Realize this is literally you running your own business --- don't expect much support, and expect $0.00 in financial and expense support. My recommendation would be to have 6-12 months of capital on hand to handle paying your own personal monthly bills + extra money to invest in your new insurance business -- meaning rent, marketing, staff/assistants --anything less will lead you into the red where most small businesses end up in the first 1-2 years.
