Not Worth It

Pros

Most of the coworkers were genuinely nice people. Customers were nice for the most part. Lots of hours due to lack of adequate staffing.

Cons

Often shifts will be with you or one other person and you are expected to keep the entire place sparkling clean while also making every customer happy. There were times when the line was out the door for hours at a time and the manager refused to come in and help me. Management does not communicate well with the employees at all and gets mad when you don’t know any updates they have implemented. Fiddleheads makes the baristas at all locations work alone for hours at night and do not provide you with any sense of security. They also do not handle HR complaints in a professional way at all. While they advertise as a family company, they do not care about your safety or wellbeing at all. The pay is so little for what they expect you to do. Know your worth. If you want to work at a coffee shop, I guarantee any other place would be better. The people in management do not know how to effectively run the business!

Pros

The staff who work in the cafes that are willing to show you the ropes. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars.

Cons

Huge disparity between cafe staff and corporate office staff who frequently show up. You can feel the difference of vibes when they walk in. They're kind of stand-offish. You don't really get a lunch when you work 6+ hours, instead you get only one 10 minute break. They expect someone to learn a huge amount of duties and information in 1-2 weeks and as someone who doesn't know anything about coffee, I wasn't learning in the pace they wanted me to and the cafe manager was willing to work with me. Unfortunately, the office staff didn't see that as a benefit. From my experience with working in the cafe, majority of my cons lie with the office staff.
