SLED Run by Poisonous Hobbits

Pros

The company outside of SLED was great

Cons

The Napolean-syndrome management of SLED are bereft of any management or leadership skills. They turn anyone and everyone against each other--looking for any slight or bit of data they can use against the next person. They are never wrong--just ask them. With nearly 100% turnover, it's amazing they can still hire good people. But just give those new people a few minutes and they'll soon realize the (hobbit) emperor has no clothes--or skills. This is by far the most toxic environment i have ever worked in-by far. Given the stock has tanked and the technology has been surpassed by many, it's astonishing anyone is buying Fireeye.

Great company with weak management

Pros

Great people to work with; most of my co-workers are fantastic people. The work-life balance is awesome.

Cons

Not so great people to work for. Specifically, there is little vision on the part of management and little effort to improve. Good enough is good enough. Little opportunity for advancement (other than meaningless title extensions). The best way to get a promotion or a significant raise is to find a job elsewhere.
